How it works

From signup to deposit in three steps.

No inventory. No upfront cost. No order forms taped to the fridge.

01

Sign up your group

Create a fundraiser in under 3 minutes — a soccer team, a scout troop, a marching band, a dance studio. Pick a name and get a personalized link your whole roster can share.

02

Share the link

Parents text, post, and knock with a participant-specific link. Every order shows who they’re supporting — and the fertilizer they’d buy anyway funds the kid.

03

Earn $40 per sale

$40 lands in the participant’s bank account within 7 days of each sale via Stripe. Helm’s Ace Hardware drops the fertilizer at the neighbor’s door at exactly the right time of year.

The product

The IFA 4-Step program, built for Utah soil.

Locally formulated for the Intermountain West — not Georgia, not Ohio. The same four bags you’d buy at the hardware store, delivered the week you actually need them.

1
23-3-8

Crabgrass Preventer + Lawn Food

Apply: Feb · Mar · Apr

Long-residual preemergent stops crabgrass, spurge, and 30+ common weeds for up to 4 months. Greens the lawn up before the neighbors’.

2
24-3-6

Weed & Feed

Apply: Apr · May

Kills up to 60 broadleaf weeds down to the roots while feeding the lawn. Added iron drives a deep emerald green.

3
25-5-10

Spring & Summer Lawn Food

Apply: Jun · Jul · Aug

30% slow-release nitrogen carries the lawn through summer heat. Omnicote pellets distribute micronutrients evenly.

4
22-2-12

Fall & Winter Lawn Food

Apply: Sep · Oct · Nov

Builds deep roots for a winter-ready lawn and stores energy for next spring’s green-up. Triple-release iron.

The math

One season of fundraising,
no door-knocking required.

Drag the sliders. See what the team could raise this season. Most rosters land between 8 and 30 sellers, each closing 2–5 sales from family, friends, and neighbors who already buy fertilizer.

Why it works

The fundraiser parents don’t dread.

Every other fundraiser asks neighbors to overpay for something they don’t want. Power Play Lawns sells them something they were already going to buy.

For your group

Turn the roster into a sales force, without the awkward asks.

  • Sign up once. The whole team, troop, or studio shares one link.
  • Each parent sees who closed which sale on the team dashboard.
  • $40 lands in the youth’s bank via Stripe within 7 days — no envelopes, no math.
  • End-of-season report makes accounting (and bragging) easy.
For your neighbors

A real product they’d buy anyway, at a fair price.

  • From $215.98/yr — the same IFA 4-Step program at the local Ace.
  • Four seasonal deliveries dropped at the door. Zero hauling bags.
  • Backed by Helm’s Ace Hardware — local people, local fertilizer.
  • $40 of every sale routes to the kid — not a fundraiser markup on candy.

Questions, answered

Everything you’d ask before signing up your group.

Who can fundraise with Power Play Lawns?

Any youth group along the Wasatch Front — sports teams, scout troops, marching bands, drama clubs, dance studios, school clubs, you name it. Individual kids can also sign up for a personal cause (a mission trip, a tournament, a camp).

How does the youth actually get paid?

Each participant connects a Stripe Express account when they create their profile — the same payments backbone Lyft, Shopify, and DoorDash use. When a neighbor buys through their personalized link, Stripe deposits $40 into their bank account within 7 days. No paper checks, no waiting until end of season.

What’s in the fertilizer subscription?

Four seasonal deliveries dropped at the door by Helm’s Ace Hardware — IFA’s 4-Step program. Step 1: Crabgrass Preventer (Feb–Apr). Step 2: Weed & Feed (Apr–May). Step 3: Spring & Summer Lawn Food (Jun–Aug). Step 4: Fall & Winter Lawn Food (Sep–Nov). Each bag is pre-measured for the homeowner’s lawn size.

Why IFA fertilizer specifically?

IFA fertilizers are formulated for the Intermountain West — our soil, our climate, our growing season. National-brand fertilizer is engineered for Georgia or Ohio, not Utah. IFA is the agronomic right answer if you live along the Wasatch Front.

How much does it cost?

$215.98/year for lawns up to 0.25 acres. $350.98/year for lawns 0.26 acres or larger. That covers all four IFA applications plus doorstep delivery — about what a homeowner would spend buying the same bags at the hardware store and making four trips.

What areas can we sell in?

Fall 2026 is a Wasatch Front pilot — Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, and Weber counties — wherever Helm’s Ace Hardware can deliver. The checkout will tell the buyer immediately whether their address is in the service area.

Can I have Power Play Lawns apply the fertilizer for me?

At checkout there’s an optional applicator upsell — $25 per application, $100 for all four. We’ll knock, plug in the hose if needed, and apply. (Note: this option is pending our pesticide applicator license — if you don’t see it at checkout this season, it’s coming.)

What happens at renewal?

For the Fall 2026 pilot the subscription is a one-time annual purchase. We’ll reach out the following spring with a one-click renewal that re-credits the original participant’s group — so the fundraiser keeps earning year over year.

Are there fees for the team?

None. The $40 to the youth is net. Processing fees and taxes are itemized for the buyer at checkout, not pulled from the participant’s share.
